If you've got somewhere fancy to go, a black evening dress is always a great bet. You've probably heard that every lady should have an LBD -- little black dress. It's true. Black dresses are super slimming and chic. Once you've snagged your black evening dress of choice, you've got to accessorize with a pair of fab shoes.

Sandal

Of course since we're talking about an evening dress, you'll want to make sure that you're wearing a sandal that's not too casual. Make your look a little more glitzy with a sparkly or metallic sandal, or go really trendy with a cage sandal or gladiator heeled sandal. It's a really cute addition to a simple black dress.

Pump

Sometimes all you need is a simple pump. If you've got a dress that's really intricate or super embellished and you want it to stand out, a basic black pump works perfectly. It'll work well with your frock, but won't distract attention from it. If you don't want to go as basic as black, metallic and colored pumps are fun, too.

Peep-Toes

If you want to show off a little bit of your fresh pedicure but don't want to wear a sandal, try a peep-toe shoe instead. Peep-toe pumps are classic and work well with any black dress. Wear yours in a basic black or play with colors. Jewel tone shoes give your ensemble a little injection of color without going over the top.

Leopard

Leopard print is super trendy, but some ladies are a little timid to wear it. If you like the trend but want to rock it in a more modest way, slip on a pair of leopard print heels with your snazzy black dress. They'll edge your dress up just enough and your look will still be totally dressy...just a little bit more fun.
