Every woman has her body woes and every woman wears jeans. Since you want your jeans to look as flattering as possible, thinning out your thighs and showing off your skinny waist can be done without spending another hour in the gym. If you choose the right cut for your body shape, you can turn your “skinny” jeans into every pair of jeans that you own.
This 1970s-inspired jean style features a cut that is slimmer through the leg and starts to flare just under the knee. Flares work great for your body type, which is known as the triangle because you are thinner on top and at your waist, and larger in your hips and legs. The reason why flares work so well is because they draw the eye away from the problem areas of your legs. What you won't want to wear is jeans that have white or faded areas on the thighs because this will only make your legs appear larger.
When you have larger legs, creating a longer line can be difficult -- but not impossible. To accentuate your skinny waist, choose a high-waisted jean that hits just an inch or two below your belly button. From there, the jeans should have a straight leg, which is intended to fit over a great pair of pumps. The straight-leg jean creates a long line from your skinny waist to below your ankles for a more flattering figure.
The challenge of having larger legs with a skinny waist is that you have to buy a size that can accommodate your legs, but is often too small for your waist. This can lead to some waistband gapping that can have you showing your underwear if you don't have on a long enough shirt. To keep this from happening, choose jeans that have a contoured waistband. This means that when you look at the jeans the waistband should be slightly curved in, which can be more figure-hugging. You'll also see a seam on each side of the waistband, which indicates the waistband was contoured.
For Your Office: Wide-Leg Trouser Jeans
You always want to look good -- even on casual day at the office. To work with your body type, look for a trouser-style jean that has wider legs. This leg style is still fashionable, yet roomier in your thighs so they won't cling to you in all the wrong places.
