Who says you can't paint on a perfect eye look in the comfort of your home? Swipe on the latest eye-makeup trends using professional and goof-proof beauty tricks that will make your peepers pop!

Best Eyeshadow Colors for Your Eyes

While sweeping green shadow across your eyelids to complement your gorgeous green eyes seems like the perfect shade, professional makeup gurus don't recommend this matchy-matchy eye look. In fact, it is best to apply eye shadow hues that are opposite of your eye color to create a beautiful and complementary contrast. If you have blue eyes wear, taupe, gray, deep blue, brown, camel and violet colors on the eyes. Brown eyes shine in plum, blue gray and blue hues; while green eyes pop with mauve, purple, dark gray, pink and charcoal-colored shadows.

Apply Eyeshadow

To make your hooded eyes appear more prominent, cover the entire lid with a neutral shadow brown or taupe shadow color to recess the heavy-lidded area around the eye. Place a darker-hued tone at the bottom of your upper eye lid. Apply a medium-toned shadow in the center of the lid, softly blending with an eyeshadow brush to soften your brown bone. Never apply a dark shadow color across your entire eyelid; the dark hue makes the folds of a hooded eye look heavier.

Line Eyes & Coat Lashes with Mascara

To line your heavy-lidded eyes perfectly, draw a thin and smoky line close to the upper lash line with a pencil. Line your eyes from the inside corners of the eye until you reach the outer corner. Smudge the line with your fingertips to open your eye and avoid a harsh look. Create maximum eye intensity by completing your pro eye shadow look with three generous coats of black or brown mascara.

Finishing Touches

Using a large and fluffy blush brush, apply translucent powder under your lower eyelid to catch any falling eye shadow that remains beneath your eyes. After finishing your gorgeous eye look, sweep the large brush under the eyes to remove the excess shadow and powder from your face.
