Dealing with oily skin can often be problematic, not to mention frustrating, but for every problem there's a solution. Fear not, oily-skinned woman. You can put powder on your skin and keep your flawless, matte look all day long. It's just a matter of using the right powder for your skin type, and learning how to apply it so the oil doesn't take over and ruin your pretty look the second you leave the house.
1.
Wash your face with a gentle, cream-based cleanser and pat it dry. Your skin's oily, but it still needs to be cleaned and moisturized. Patting your face dry allows your skin to soak up some of the water and stay hydrated and healthy.
2.
Apply your foundation -- you can skip this step if you want, although it does help your powder set better -- over your face and neck.
3.
With a fluffy powder brush, dip it into some mineral powder. Mineral powder is the best choice for your oily skin, because it's fresh and light, and much gentler on your skin than other types.
4.
Tap the brush on the powder container or with one hand to shake off any excess powder.
5.
Move the brush to your ever so gorgeous face and start dabbing the powder on, starting on your cheeks and moving around to your forehead and then chin, and finally your neck. Brush the bristles now gently over your whole face and neck to blend the powder in and get rid of any powder lines.
Read the ingredients on a mineral powder product before buying. Some brands advertise products as being so when they really aren't, and if you want the best results on your oily skin, you need to be sure you're getting what you want.
