Dry hair needs continuous moisture to keep from breaking or splitting off at the ends. Without the proper moisture you've got a frizzy, prickly mess on your hands. Healthy, moisturized hair is more elastic, soft and bouncy. But you don’t always have to wash and condition your hair to moisturize it. Give your locks the moisture they need with a leave-in product instead. Choose a light grease-free product designed specifically for your hair type.

1.

Separate your hair into four sections (two at the front, two at the back) with a wide-toothed comb.

2.

Spritz your hair lightly from root to tip in each section with your leave-in product. If it’s a cream, put a dab on your index finger, rub it on the rest of your fingers and finger it through the hair in that section. Add a bit of your leave-in conditioner at the scalp too.

3.

Spritz that section of hair once or twice with your fresh, cold distilled water. Cold water helps seal moisture into the hair shaft.

4.

Comb out that section very gently but thoroughly, then move onto the next section of hair. Let the hair air dry before styling.

Things You'll Need

1.Light moisturizing leave-in conditioner (cream or spray)

3.Wide-toothed comb

2.Spray bottle filled with cold distilled water

Tips & Tricks

Reduce your use of heat-styling products if you have a problem with dry hair. Flat irons, blow dryers and curling irons dry up the moisture in the hair or opens the shaft allowing moisture to escape.
