Bandeau dresses are a daring choice for fashionistas fond of flashing their flesh. The basic bandeau is a strip of fabric that essentially covers your chest and nothing else, putting your bust front and center for the world to see. The tiny tops of bandeau dresses are certainly sexy, but they are prone to slipping as you move and shake. A little prep work will keep your bandeau dress, and your modesty, in place all night long.
1.
Secure your girls in a strapless bra before sliding into your bandeau dress. A strapless bra holds and supports your cleavage and gives the dress a surface to cling to besides slick skin. Look for a bra made of plush fabric such as velour or velvet for extra grip.
2.
Pin the dress to your bra, if slipping persists. Ask a helper to assist you, and slip a safety pin through the bra from the inside. Push the pin far enough through the bra to pass through the inside layer of the dress, and close the pin securely. Pin the bra with two pins in the front and two pins in the back for maximum support.
3.
Tape the dress to your skin with lingerie tape, if you don’t wear a bra. This specialty tape is commonly used by lingerie models; it is sticky on both sides, to cling to both your skin and dress to prevent slipping and shifting. Cut off two, 2-inch strips of tape, and peel the back off one side. Apply it to the inside of the dress, at the top of each cup. Slip the dress over your head and center the dress on your body, and peel the backing off the tape strips. Press the strips firmly over the top of each breast to hold the dress in place.
