If you've got a body shaped like a pear, you're probably sporting some sexy curves. Women with a pear-shaped torso tend to get a bit hippier than your apple-shaped peers, and you may have smaller shoulders. But we can bet you've got a waistline you'd like to flatter. You'll be able to find a number of jean styles that flatter your figure and fit comfortably at the same time.
Cinch your trim waist in high-rise jeans that you can wear with or without a belt. Tuck in your blouse to show off some of the details on the new jeans, such as patterned stitching around the pockets and belt loops. While you're drawing attention to your curves, take the opportunity to de-emphasize your hips by choosing longer jeans that you can wear with heels. They’ll add height while making your legs appear longer. The entire line that stretches from the tips of your high-heeled boots to the snap at your waist will even out your silhouette.
If you've got the flat abs to pull it off, a pear-shaped short beauty can wear those hip-hugging low-riders. You for one won't have to worry about the jeans sliding off your backside and revealing any more than you plan to show. The tops of the jeans can sit just above your hip line. Wear low-riders with a cropped top to bare those abs you've been working so hard to attain or show off your new navel ring. A tight hugging jersey or sweater tucked into the low-waisted jeans works well with low-riders in cooler weather for pear-shaped gals.
Mid-Rise with Flair
It's all about drawing the eye to your waist and drawing attention away from your hips that might be a little out of proportion if you're pear-shaped. Mid-rise jeans usually rise a bit higher in the back and snap and zip up the front just below your navel. The jeans hug your hips and have just enough in the middle to accentuate your curves. Wear mid-rise jeans with a touch of a flared leg to even out your silhouette. Flares have a tendency to make your thighs look slimmer. Wide-legged jeans work well worn a little long over heels or hanging just over your ankles with sneakers or flats.
Plus-size women with pear-shaped figures want to stick with darker shades of blue and black in your jeans. You'll do well in the mid-rise flares and high-rise jeans, especially when you take advantage of new materials that give you a little extra snug around your curvy middle with stretchable fabric. Avoid super-tapered jeans that accentuate every bulge.
