Problem skin can wreak havoc on your appearance, confidence and most of all, your self-esteem. Women often deal with a moderate to severe acne breakout each month (yes, during that time...) because of hormonal fluctuations. If you've succeeded in eliminating that "pepperoni pizza" look, now you need to take steps to heal your skin and stave off (at least until next month) any more blemishes before they rear their ugly heads.
1.
Wear sunscreen every time you leave the house. If you're just gotten over a breakout, you probably used acne face wash and/or topical treatments. These can make your skin more sensitive to sun exposure, so protect your skin from further damage.
2.
Use natural and organic skincare products. These are often more gentle than other products, and you don't want to use any harsh products or cleansers on delicate, healing skin.
3.
Drink at least 64 oz. of water each day. If your skin is properly hydrated, it will heal itself quicker.
4.
Avoid washing your face with really hot water as this can cause your skin to become red and irritated. Rather, wash your face with lukewarm or cool water.
5.
Make a home facial that will reduce inflammation and prevent future breakouts. Cut a lemon in half, and squeeze the juice from one half into a bowl. Add the white from one egg, and mix well. Evenly apply the mixture to your face before bed, and leave it on overnight. Rinse well with lukewarm water in the morning. (Put a towel on your pillow to keep your pillowcase from getting icky.)
