Hate your 'stache, but also hate the tears, burning and redness that come with plucking it out hair-by-little-hair? If so, then homemade waxing cream for the face may be the answer for you. Many women try waxing exactly once, burn their eyebrows or upper lip with scalding wax straight off the stove or out of the microwave, and start to consider shaving unwanted facial hair or resign themselves to plucking. There is another way, though. Homemade facial waxing creams can actually make facial hair removal a relatively simple and painless experience with natural ingredients that not only eliminate existing hair, but slow new growth. Try this "sweet" remedy and silky smooth skin will soon be a way of life for you!
To make your waxing cream, you will need honey and a lemon. Also make sure you have a glass bowl and a whisk on hand. Select your softest wash cloth as well, and make sure that your face is clean and dry.
Mixing Up the Magic
Whisk 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and 4 teaspoons of honey in the glass bowl. If you are having trouble blending the two ingredients, you can warm them slightly in the microwave to make mixing easier. However, be sure to allow them to cool before you apply the mixture to your face. It is not necessary to heat this treatment in order for it to work.
Silky Skin, Here You Come!
Smooth the honey-and-lemon mixture onto the area of your face that you wish to wax. It will be sticky, so be patient. You can use your fingers or a wooden spoon or spatula. Smooth it onto your skin in the direction that your hair grows naturally and allow the solution to sit for 15 minutes before you rinse it off with cool water, using the super-soft washcloth to gently "buff" your skin as you rinse. You can use this treatment as frequently as twice a week, and over time it may slow the growth of your hair in addition to removing existing facial hair.
Before applying this homemade waxing cream for the face to your face, test it on your inner wrist or elbow. Smear a small amount of the cream onto the area, then wait for 20 minutes. Check the area for redness or irritation before and after rinsing off the mixture. If none occurs, you can use the cream on your face. Keep it out of your eyes and other orifices.
