Don't be stressed if your hair is dry and just won't lock in moisture. Give your 'do a daily dose of extra hydration that will restore brittle, dry and lackluster locks to their former glory. Use natural oils you might even have in your kitchen to create leave-in conditioners that do most of the work for you.
Oil and Water
Create your own concoction to keep your hair hydrated and healthy. Combine a cup of water with 3 tablespoons of olive oil for a natural hair spray and leave-in conditioner that costs pennies. Atlanta-based natural hairstylist Folami Springs recommends adding the mixture to a spray bottle and using it daily for a naturally moisturized mane.
Cuckoo For Coconuts
After a shampoo treatment, simply apply some coconut oil to give some love to both your scalp and hair. Coconut oil not only moisturizes, but it also prevents dandruff. Pick up a jar at your local health food store or farmers' market. Thoroughly massage in a few drops of oil (more for longer hair) for a healthy, shiny and soft glow that smells delicious, too.
Jojoba Oil
Restore much-needed moisture to your lovely mane with jojoba oil that mimics the natural oils your body creates. Gently rub a few drops of jojoba oil into your palms and massage throughout your hair and scalp. To add some scent to your oil, include a few drops of your favorite essential oil, such as lavender or peppermint, which both have antibacterial and moisturizing properties.
Don't Reinvent the Wheel
You might not have to go to the trouble of mixing up your own moisture solutions. Stick to what you know, and turn your favorite conditioner into a leave-in you can treat your tresses with between washes. Simply mix a few drops of it with water in a spray bottle, and spritz your hair before you greet the day.
