Tube dresses are one of the most versatile kinds of dresses -- they're strapless, so you can wear virtually anything on your shoulders or show off your skin. If you've got a basic, bodycon tube dress, throw on a boyfriend blazer and a long necklace for a dressed up outfit that's great for a night out. Wear a cardigan and a thick waist belt and you can transform your look from boring to boho. Styling your look with heels isn't so easy. You have to consider the length of your dress before you can choose what to wear.
Ankle Booties
An ultra short, super tight tube dress may be incredibly sexy, but showing too much skin is never flattering. Fashion is about balance and wearing barely there strappy sandals will only cheapen your look. Instead, choose brightly colored, heeled ankle booties. The booties will balance out the amount of leg that you show, and color blocking will add interest to an otherwise dull outfit. Make sure you don't choose like colors -- like a blue dress and blue shoes -- because looking like a blueberry isn't really in fashion.
Classic Pumps
If you're ever struggling about which shoe you should wear, classic pumps go with just about any outfit. This type of shoe will lengthen your leg, giving you a taller, leaner appearance. If your dress falls between mid-thigh and mid-calf, it's important to wear a pump, especially if you're petite. These lengths tend to cut off your leg line at an unflattering point, making your legs look shorter or wider; however, a high heeled pump can remedy an awkward hemline.
Strappy Sandals
Strappy, heeled sandals are hard to pull off. If you show too much leg, they'll look cheap or out of place and if you show not enough, they'll get lost underneath the fabric of your dress. A strappy sandal works best with a tube dress that falls at the knee and flairs outward. The excess fabric balances out the slinkiness of the shoes giving you an all-over flirty and feminine vibe. Add an embellished hair bow to sweeten the deal.
Chunky Wedges
The fashionably quiet beware -- wedges are a statement, but they're more in style than ever. Not only will chunky wedges give you an edgier look that can't be achieved with a classic pump or strappy sandal, but they're easier to walk in. This kind of style works with any length tube dress as long as you cover your shoulders; the shoes make your legs look super long and you'll look extra exposed if you're not wearing tights.
