Not just any old hairstyle is going to do for that big, beautiful face of yours. A wide face needs a hairstyle that's going to provide balance, while highlighting your face's best features. Thankfully, there are a multitude of fab hairstyles, at any length, that will fit the bill.
The Face Shapes
If you've got a wide face, chances are you have one of two face shapes: round or square. A wide face shape isn't a bad thing. You've got symmetry going on and probably some beautifully balanced features. Now all you need is a hairstyle to accentuated your best features and bring your best face forward.
Sassy, short hairstyles are just too much fun to pass up. You can change them up often and play with bolder colors. What makes these cuts suited to your wider face shape is height on the top. Shorter layers that create volume on the top, or at least the crown area, create the illusion of length to counteract the width of your face. You wild girls out there can ask for a razor cut in order to get a really wild, texturized look.
For you ladies who like a little more length to your style, let's talk about rocking a medium-length style. Soften a square face by sporting a soft, layered hairstyle like a shag cut. Wispy layers around the face will soften your strong jaw line perfectly. For a round face shape, try a sleek, straight bob that ends below the chin. The straight lines will slim the sides of your face.
If lots of length is your thing, you've got to get it right or it could spell disaster. A round face needs to keep it smooth. You can't have width at the sides, or you face will look wider yet, so straight and sleek is the key. Got a square face shape? Loads of length doesn't flatter as much as a medium-length cut, but if you've got to go there, you need to have some wave or big curls in your hair. Layers and curls will soften your look and give you a seriously sexy 'do.
