Rapunzel was definitely onto something. Luxurious, long tresses make a girl feel feminine and provide countless options for styling and switching your look up. But all this elegance comes at a price, and long hair needs a whole lot of looking after in order to keep it fairytale princess pretty.
Moroccan Oil
A recent revolution in the beauty world has been the mainstream discovery of "dry oils" for conditioning long hair, the most popular of which is the brand "MOROCCANOIL." Simply rub a quarter-sized blob of this product through the lengths of towel-dried hair to cut down drying time drastically and protect and condition the hair shaft. Blow dry or leave hair to dry naturally, and you'll be amazed at how shiny and soft your locks are.
Natural Bristle Brush
Legend has it that long-haired ladies should brush their hair with 100 strokes every day, and while that might be going a little overboard, using the right hairbrush certainly isn't. Invest in a natural bristle brush (the Rolls Royce of these is made by Mason & Pearson) to help distribute your hair's natural oils and keep terrible tangles at bay.
Dry Shampoo
Keeping long hair from breaking and splitting is half the battle, and moisture is a crucial component in this fight, so try not to shampoo too frequently. Often roots and bangs get greasy, while the lengths are still perfectly fine, and this is exactly when dry shampoo can save the day. Dry shampoo is packaged mainly in a spray can like hair spray. Squirt it on your roots, leave to dry and then brush it out to get hair that feels fresh from the salon whenever you need a quick hair pick-me-up.
Metal-free ponytail holders
Keep your ponytail swishing in tip-top shape by only using hairbands that don't have any metal clasp on them. Opt for ponytail holders that are made out of one continuous fabric, and you'll avoid ripping out your precious tresses whenever you remove them.
