If you are a dark-skinned lady, you may be confused about what colors suit your complexion. This skin type can accommodate a variety of hair shades. Depending on the desired look, various style can be achieved with a nice variety of color.
Black and Darks
You may think that your hair is black because it seems dark, however many dark-skinned women in actual fact have dark brown hair that they have perceived as black. Hold your hair up to the light to define its genuine color. Dying your hair jet black will make for a sharp look. It is the best way to give yourself instant depth. It also can make your hair look thicker and lustrous. Black hair will also make your skin look richer, giving it a smoother, more-brown finish.
Red hair on brown skin is an edgy look. You may not want all red hair, but streaks and dyed tips still carry the same effect. Go for deep, dark reds such as Burgundy for a subtle but still funky look. If you are brave, wear brighter reds, too. The red will highlight the red undertones in your brown skin and give you a fierce edge.
Browns are a good color to wear on brown skin. Like celebrity Gabrielle Union, you could mix different shades to create a look. Honey shades teamed with deep almost black browns can create a fabulously rich look that leaves your skin with a glow.
Blonde hair can be shaky ground for dark skin. Dark browns, however, can be effective. Dirty blonde hair mixed in with brown hair or used as streaks can look very pretty. Dark blonde highlights will give a taste of glamour and a touch of diva while giving your skin a deeper, darker finish, evening out your skin tone.
