You choose specific makeup colors to flatter your skin tone, so use the same attention to detail with your nails. If your skin has yellow, or olive, undertones, you have plenty of flattering nail polish shades to choose from. Just be sure to avoid yellowish polishes, such as gold, as they can make your skin tone look sallow instead of stunning.

True Red

If your your skin has yellow undertones, enhance your nails with a vibrant cherry red polish, which is sure to turn heads. If you can't find a true red polish, pick one with orange, rather than blue, undertones for the most flattering look.

Pink

Women with yellow skin undertones look just as good in pink nail polish as their fair-skinned counterparts do. The trick is to choose a pink color with yellowish tones, such as coral. To test if the pink polish has blue or yellow undertones, hold it next to a piece of white paper. If you choose a shimmery pink color, make sure that your nails are in good condition. Shiny paint can highlight any flaws or imperfections.

Brown

Rich, caramel or chocolate brown nail polish shades will flatter your yellow skin tone any time of the year, but will especially be right during the fall and winter months. If you're a girl who prefers dark polish, browns are the way to go. They will bring out the warmth in your skin tone while looking fashionable at the same time.

Teal

When you crave a stand-out nail polish color, go for a bold teal shade. The greenish blue color looks good against every skin tone, and will especially complement your warm coloring. For the most flattering look, choose a creamy, rather than shimmery, teal color.
