Those looking for a drastic change in appearance can try changing their hair, as a new cut and color can work wonders. Celebrities such as Rihanna and Pink have proved that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to selecting a funky hairstyle, because the classic pixie, bob and pageboy can all be given a facelift to be more attention-grabbing. And, to complete your hair metamorphosis, go for the fashion-forward gusto and choose a bright hue.

Sterling Silver Pixie

The pixie, a short cut that features longer hair on top, has been made more dramatic over the years with chunky layers and exaggerated fringe. What started out as a very nymphet style worn by the likes of a young Audrey Hepburn, has been revamped into contemporary styles worthy of a rock star. One example is a pompadouresque pixie, which has been worn by the singer, Pink, that gradually gets longer from back to front. What makes this cut more attention-grabbing is its sterling silver hue -- which can be swapped for many prismatic colors.

Hot-Pink Bob

The hot-pink bob has been a favorite in both real and wig versions with entertainers, such as Nicki Minaj. In an attempt to be different, opt for an A-line bob, which is short toward the back and gradually gets longer -- up to shoulder length -- in the front. Add a blunt-cut bang, and you have a style that is capable of turning a couple of heads. And, dyeing the dramatic cut an electrified pink is just icing on the colorful cake.

Acid Yellow Bombshell

The 1940s pageboy -- the style worn by many bombshells of the decade -- was a shoulder-length blunt cut that featured a prominent bang. Instead of lopping tresses off at the shoulders, opt for a longer hairdo -- which can give you more room to play with. For that fashionable dipped-in-crayon look, dye the ends of the locks with an acid-yellow pigment. Those looking to be even more outrageous can produce a rainbow effect, graduating dye from yellow to red. This tequila-sunset hairdo was yet another sported by the conversation-worthy Minaj.

Bright Red Fro

For those with natural curls, flaunt them with a big superstar fro. The curly tresses can be cut in layers, allowing the locks frame the face. Also this look can be maximized by hair extensions if necessary, as big hair can make a statement. To further accentuate the lovely hair halo, opt to dye the locks in a prismatic color. Singer Rihanna opted to color her hair a bright tomato red -- a color that is hard to miss.
