Not sure if you want to wear your hair up or down? Instead of choosing, why not wear your locks both ways? When it comes to your tresses, sometimes you really can have it both ways. Half-up hairstyles can be chic and adorable.
Half Chignon
Pull just half of your hair into a chignon. This is a fab way to rock the chignon look if you have shorter hair that won't work itself into a full-on chignon updo. Part your hair horizontally in the center of the head. Take the top half of the hair, twist it until it falls into a bun shape and secure it with bobby pins.
The Not-Quite Ponytail
Pulling half of your hair into a ponytail can be boring. Instead of wearing a pony, try something a little more unexpected. This looks even better on slightly curled hair, so whip out a large-barrel curling iron and curl large sections of your hair. Then pull the top half of your hair back. Twist it into a bun, stopping about half way, so half of the top half of your hair is in a bun and the other is hanging loose. Bobby pin the hair in place and leave it just like that.
Wear It Curly
Add some cute, feminine curls to the mix. Adding curl to your tresses creates tons of fantastic volume to the hair. If you have naturally curly locks, you really don't have to do much work at all. Ladies with straighter hair will need to use a curling iron. Anything you have will do, and any curls you want to create will work. Once you've got curly locks, just gently pull the sides of the hair back and bobby pin them in place loosely. Using an elastic band will take away from your voluminous curly look, so stick with bobby pins.
With a Headband
This look is especially great for women with naturally curly hair. If your hair isn't curly, no problem. You can wear this style with straight hair too, or, if you prefer, you can curl it up any way you like. Then, just pull the top section of hair back and clip it in place. A small butterfly clip or a few bobby pins should work fine. Now get two skinny headbands. Push them back on your head. You'll want them to start at least one inch from the hairline and wear them separated by at least one inch. This will create a cool, easy, laid back Grecian look.
