The Flamenco dance brings brilliant colors, elegant movement and vibrant music to life in southern Spain, drawing worldwide attention to the beautiful Flamenco dancers. If you want to get a chic Flamenco dancer 'do, you can pick from a few different Andalusian-inspired hairstyles. Whether you want an updo, a bouncy short 'do or long, flowing locks, you can find the perfect style for a dramatic, exotic look and accentuate it with a bright-colored flower.

Updo

When you think of a Flamenco dancer, you probably conjure up an image of swept-back dark hair with a splash of color from a bright-colored flower. You can emulate this classic look if you have medium or long hair by separating your hair at the nape of your neck into two equal sections on each side. Wrap each section into a bun at your hairline and use two black sticks to fasten each bun. If you want your hair higher up, put it in a ponytail and wrap it up in a bun on top of your head, using two sticks to fasten the bun. Add a splash of color to your elegant 'do by pinning a large flower on one side of your head, next to the bun.

Long and Sexy

Another hairstyle option if you have long locks is to wear your hair down for a flowing, sultry look, punctuated by a trademark Flamenco flower. To prepare your long 'do, create loose, gentle curls in your hair by using a large-barrel curling iron or large curlers. Allow your curls to cool off and spray them lightly with hairspray before flipping your head upside down and massaging your roots to get a natural, wavy look. Use bobby pins to pull back any hair that hangs in your eyes. Add a large flower or a row of flowers down one side of your hair for an Andalusian flair.

Short and Chic

If you have short hair, you can work with your hair's natural texture to customize a sexy 'do just for you. Whether your hair is straight and sleek or bouncy and curly, you can glam it up by adding some styling gel for shine and then pinning a flower on one side. Go for a large, bright bud that complements your dress and team up your new look with some red lipstick for extra seduction power.

Considerations

If you have long hair that won't hold a curl, you can still wear your hair down for a Flamenco look. Add some smoothing gel to your hair for extra shine and pin a flower on one side of your hair, near your scalp. Another option for a dramatic 'do is to wear a wig. Go for a wig with long, dark locks that you can style to your liking and finish with a flower.
