1.
Wash your face and hair before you prep for your shoot. There's nothing worse than dirty-looking hair and skin during a shoot. Washing your face with a gentle cleanser the day of the photo shoot and applying moisturizer helps your makeup go on smoother. Since hair that is a little dirty typically holds up better than a mane that is clean, wash your hair the night before. Don't forget to use conditioner to get your hair looking soft and smooth.
2.
Apply foundation on your face to make your tone look even. Use concealer on any blemishes or sun spots on your face. Just put enough on to get your skin looking flawless, not so much that it looks dry or cakey.
3.
Apply more eye makeup than usual, so that it will show up in the pictures. Apply a shade of eye shadow that looks good with your coloring, such as brown, gray or purple, to make your peepers really stand out. Use dark eyeliner, like black or brown, to highlight your eyes. Run it along both your bottom and top lashes. Curl your lashes and apply two coats of mascara to get them looking lush. You can even experiment with false lashes to get them a bit longer. Apply a dot of a light shimmer to your brow bone and the inside corners of your eyes, and you're good to go.
4.
Apply a shine serum to your locks before you style them. It typically works well on both dry and damp hair and will add sheen and definition to your 'do. How you want to style it is up to you. If you want an updo, try a sexy, messy bun. Pull your tresses back and twist, securing them with a hair tie. Then bring some hair out around your face to soften the look. If you want a gorgeous, down style, put your hair in large rollers for a few minutes, then use hairspray to keep it in place. Bottom line is you want to look natural, but in such a way that it translates to hotness in print.
Remember to get your confidence on while posing for pics. Look natural and like yourself; however, now is not the time to be shy. Keep your head up and look at the camera with confidence.
Try a few practice runs with your hair and makeup before the big day. Playing around with the different styles can help you determine how you look your best.
