1.
Prep your eyelids. Clean them with eye makeup remover on a cotton pad, even if you don't have any other makeup on. It's important to remove any oil or other debris from the lids and lashes. Put a little base on your middle finger and spread it evenly over your eyelids, stroking up toward the brow bones until the entire lid is covered. Tap a little concealer under your eyes with your ring finger. Wash your hands with soap and water and let them air dry thoroughly.
2.
Dust a soft eye shadow brush into a matte eye shadow and brush the shadow over your eyelids, starting at the inner corners and working your way up and out toward the fold of the eyelids. If your lids don't have folds, brush up to the start of the brow bones.
3.
Dip a medium-bristle eye shadow brush into a cream eye shadow. Apply the shadow to the outer half of the eyelids, following whatever stroke you think looks most fantastic. Try a saturated application that extends out past the outer corner of the eyes or use a feathery stroke that gently fades as it hits the eyebrows. For extra glamour, hold the brush at a 45-degree angle and brush the shadow on the outer third of the eyes, just below the lower lashes.
4.
Metallic eye shadow brings the fantasy to a whole new level. If you use a cream metallic, use a stiff-bristle eye shadow brush. For a powder metallic, stick to the soft brush. Whichever you use, apply the metallic softly, layer by layer, to build up the intensity at the brow bones and the outer corners of the eyes. Dot a little bit at the inner corners, right by the nose.
5.
Primp your eyelashes -- fake eyelashes are perfect for fantasy eyes. Dot a tiny amount of eyelash glue onto the back of the lashes and gently apply them to the lash line. Repeat on the other side. Curl your natural lashes with the fake ones, using an eyelash curler. Apply several coats of black mascara and then finish off with colored mascara.
