If oily skin has got you wanting to walk around with a stylish Pashmina wrapped around your face, you've got to get it in check. Gals with slick skin can't always use the same skin products as everyone else, and doing so can often make your shine matters worse. But when you use the right products, you can get that grease under control and step out in confidence.

Get Your Wash On

To cleanse your skin and stop the shine in its tracks, wash your mug with a cleanser made just for oily skin. Such a product can clear your face of the oil and get it looking fresh. Scrub-a-dub-dub your face twice daily -- three if your face is seriously shiny. Don't over wash, however, as doing so will only cause irritation.

Treat It with Toner

Swipe your skin with some salicylic acid-containing toner daily to keep the shine down. The toner helps clean out your pores and also helps decrease oil production. Dip a cotton ball into the liquid, then wipe it over your T-zone, which includes your forehead, nose and chin. These areas are particularly porous and usually have the most shine.

Mask It Up

Apply a mask for oily skin on your mug to help soak up the oil and soothe your skin. Pick one up from the store, or make your own with a few items from the kitchen. To make a homemade mask, combine an egg yolk, a tablespoon each of olive oil and honey and a half a cup of oatmeal in a small bowl. Scoop up the mixture with your hand, and apply it to your face. Allow it to soak in for 15 minutes, then rinse it with lukewarm water. Your face should feel soft and oil-free afterwards.

Make Good with Makeup

The dilemma chicks with oily skin often face is their grease usually creeps through their makeup soon after application. To prevent this predicament, use a water-based formulation that is made for oily skin. Make sure, however, that it is non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog your pores. Nix the grease by using blotting papers on your skin, as well as a blotting brush and powder, which will keep you looking pretty and shine-free throughout the day.
