Today's sweaters are not those horrible argyle creations that mom used to make you wear during the winter. Now, you can convey serious sex appeal with the right sweater, particularly if you know how to dress it up. Sure, you aren't showing much skin, but true vixens know how to look hot without showing any skin at all. Add the right accessories to your sweater and do just that.

1.

Wear a statement necklace made of rhinestones or shiny crystals in an elaborate design. Match it up with equally blinged-out earrings and an armful of jangling bangles. Even the most simple sweater looks night-out ready when jazzed up with bright and shiny jewels.

2.

Add a scarf to your sweater outfit. If blingy jewelry is not your thing and you simply want to slightly dress up your top for, say, the office or an important business meeting, slide on a colorful scarf. Not only is this an added layer of protection to keep you warm but it offers visual interest around your neckline and on your sweater.

3.

Belt your sweater. Sometimes sweaters can look downright unshapely and bulky, which makes them look even more casual. Wrap a funky belt around your waist (up high) and wear wide-leg trousers. This is a look that can go from the office to cocktail hour with ease.

4.

Pair up your sweater with heels and a pencil skirt. Even the simplest sweater looks dressy with this combo, in part because of the sophistication of a pencil skirt and also because of the sexiness of the heels. You can even go easy on accessories but don't forget an equally elegant hairstyle to complete the look.

Tips & Tricks

While black or white is the picture of sophistication, you can easily dress up a colorful or printed sweater, depending on the style of the garment. The more well-fitted the sweater is, the more fabulous it will look on you.
