Dressing your hourglass figure should be a piece of cake. Slim hourglass figures are considered to be the ideal body shape. This figure wears clothes extremely well due to it's being balanced. Dressing this shape is all about ensuring the balance is maintained and the curves are not hidden in ill-fitting styles.
Select tops that will help maintain a balanced figure. Choose V-neck tops, or cowl-necked blouses. These styles emphasize a fuller bust and create a balanced upper body. Avoid high-collar styles, or tops that create unnecessary bulk or add width to the shoulders. Less is truly more for slim hourglass figures.
Choose tailored styled clothing for your hourglass figure. Tailored blazers or coats are the ideal selection for your figure. You need styles that nip in at the waist and expose your natural curves.
Pick out tailored trousers as they are also a good choice. Your trousers should cling to hips, but still have room to show a smooth and attractive silhouette. Wide-legged trousers are especially effective for your figure as they allow room and work well with curvy hips. Choose pencil skirts or flared pleated skirts that skim hips and help define your figure.
Select dresses that are belted or nipped in at the waist to improve definition and silhouette. Pick out dresses that have small patterns, as overbearing patterns can make your curvy figure appear heavy. Dresses with bodices and simple necklines work very well for a slim hourglass figure. Avoid overly embellished dresses as these have the same effect as large-patterned dresses, adding weight to your frame.
