Low-cut boots, also known as ankle boots, come in many different shapes and styles. Picking the right dress to go with them is dependent on what your boots are made of and where you are going. A black leather pair of ankle boots will look stunning with a tight mini-dress if you are heading out to a club. A wedged pair of tan ankle boots with a patterned wrap dress will work perfectly for a sunny afternoon lunch with friends. Once you understand how to pick a dress to wear with your boots, you will push fashion boundaries and look gorgeous all the way.

Body Con

A body con dress is tight-fitted and usually rather short. This is the perfect dress to wear with leather or suede high heeled ankle boots. If your boots have a platform, wedged or spiked heel, team them with a tight-fitting body con dress to complete the vamp look. You can wear opaque black tights to slim, lengthen and cover your legs too.

Belted Dress

A belted dress with a cinched-in waist will work nicely with taller ankle boots. This is a particularly good look if the dress has a '50s prom feel and has an extended or fluffy skirt -- the ankle boots will give a fluffy frilly dress a hard edge and toughen up your look. This is a good way to create a more fashion-forward look and works well with a high-heeled taller ankle boots. Try clashing harsh black ankle boots with a pretty floral pattern.

Shirt Dress

Shirt dresses are the epitome of casual chic. A crisp belted or loose shirt dress is the best style to team with almost any style of ankle boots. Perhaps you wanted to put together a good evening look. A crisp white shirt dress with a sleek black belt and some high heeled ankle boots will work nicely. Maybe you are just taking a trip to the mall -- a loose shirt dress with chunky socks, leggings and flat ankle boots will work perfectly.

Jumper Dress

The good thing about ankle boots is they translate well into different seasons and are especially suited to harsh cold winters. If this is your season, you are going to need a good warm dress to help you carry off a successful winter look. Team a flat or low-heeled pair of ankle boots with a chunky knitted jumper dress. Add leggings or wool tights for a cozy warm finish. Jumper dresses are casual and practical; an above-the-knee style will allow your ankle boots to look nice and keep you comfortable.
