If you have a little tummy bulge, you’ll need a few expert tips to whittle your middle without canceling your sense of style. While trendy, form-fitting dresses are not flattering to your curvy shape, you won’t have to skip wearing the latest runway looks for fear of looking like a fashion don’t. Whether you are looking to spice up your wardrobe or just camouflage your itty-bitty belly, you can wear fashionable and sexy outfits that’ll make you look and feel your best.

Slide into a pair of slim-cut jeans. Paired with an empire-waist top or a bohemian-style tunic, a dark-colored pair of skinny jeans will draw the eye down to your legs, and away from the tummy. Wear a bold print or a vibrant color on top to help downplay any figure flaws around your middle.

Disguise a curvy tummy with shift and trapeze dresses. These two garments are great for gals with great gams. When paired with sky-high heels, an A-line trapeze dress or a classic shirtdress will make your gorgeous legs the focal point of the outfit.

Wear skirts that minimize any tummy bulge. A-line and dropped-waist skirts are figure-flattering options that skim over a bigger belly without clinging. Wear these skirts with a blazer for work, and a cotton scooped-neck T-shirt for casual outings.

Wrap your body in draping and ruching. To slim your apple shape, you don’t need a closet filled with A-line tops and dresses only. For evening or special events, garments that feature draping across the tummy hide lumps and bumps perfectly.

Tips & Tricks

A tailored jacket -- that is nipped at the waist -- will slenderize hips and disguise your stomach instantly.

To draw the eye upwards – and away from the tummy --choose tunic tops that feature voluminous sleeves and decoration around the collar.

Stay away from spandex and other clingy fabrics that pull across your midsection and accentuate your tummy. Choose jersey or a knit fabric instead.
