You don’t have to hire a celebrity stylist to look effortlessly fabulous in a vintage-chic style; you just need the right pieces. Stars such as Sienna Miller and Nicole Richie are the go-to celebs when looking for inspiration because they have a knack for mixing and matching the eclectic duds. And, with the right retro pieces, you can create your own fashionable bohemian rhapsody.

Printed Tops

Mixing bright prints is one of the key components of bohemian style -- think florals, paisleys and stripes. From jewel tones to pastels, everything flies -- as long as you include hints of psychedelic undertones. Start your look by selecting semi-sheer paisley tunic and match it with a featherweight floral cardigan. Or, if you want a more subdued look, try playing with textures by pairing a graphic print chemise with a knobby button-up sweater. Just remember: loose-fitting, flowing tops can go the distance when trying to achieve this look.

Loose Bottoms

Feel free to evoke the spirit of the free bohemian by traipsing around in loose-fit bottoms. If you want to be more dedicated to the 1970s, opt for bell-bottoms; today’s contemporary looks use wide leg or baggy trousers to achieve that necessary comfort and volume. If you are in the mood to show a little skin, opt for cropped shorts or skirt -- the sawed-off varieties can be quite ragamuffin-chic. Or a maxi-skirt -- those long flowing gypsy-esque numbers can be a feminine touch.

Groovy Toppers

Jackets and vests can add structure and elegance to an otherwise free-flowing look in a bohemian wardrobe. A suede vest can really go the distance, especially when it is drowned in long fringe. A real or faux fur shrug can up the glamour ante and give the outfit a hint of sophistication. If you want more structure, go for a cropped box-shaped blazer in a bright eye-popping color.

Retro Accessories

Accessories are essential to selling your retro look; after all, the look is not often associated with minimalism. Start with a couple of necklaces -- one or two chains or beaded necklaces should do -- and layer on the bangles. Accentuate the feminine curves with a wide belt, slinging a suede or cowhide number around the waist or hips. When it comes to shoes, it is all about your comfort level. You can be equally stylish in suede fringe boots as in platform sandals, so pick a pair of vintage-inspired shoes and strut your bohemian stuff.
