We all want to look our absolute best. Changing the tone of one’s skin is one way, a controversial one at that, to do it. Silka Papaya Lotion, according to its manufacturer, Starex Merchandising, "whitens" a person's skin color while helping to maintain its youthful glow. Its active ingredients, Vitamin B3 and Green Papaya Enzyme, assist with the skin-lightning process. SPF 10 and Vitamin E, two additional ingredients, also help reduce signs of premature aging. However, before using a product such as Silka Papaya Lotion, there are a few things you may want to weigh first.

Product Regulation

When using a beauty product than can possibly alter the physical appearance of your skin, caution is key! Silka Papaya Lotion is not produced in the United States. Instead, it’s produced in the Philippines. Imported skin whitening creams can be particularly chancy. Why, you might ask? Well, because they can contain ingredients not listed on the product's label that may be banned in the United States due to health fears.

Results Take Time

There is no magical skin care product that produces instant results. Silka Papaya Lotion is no exception. Whitening your skin using lotions, soaps or gels is a slow, gradual process. While this particular product line boasts results in as early as seven days, realistically, the average person will see changes in skin color in approximately eight weeks. Patience is key.

Results Aren’t Permanent

To reap the benefits of this product, you must use it on a regular basis. Skin lightening is very similar to other skin care regimens — the results don't last forever. If you quit using the lotion, your skin will eventually revert back to its prior darker appearance. However, continued use will ensure that your skin stays lightened.

Safety Precautions

As with any skin care line, never apply the product to your face or body without trying a test patch first. The reason? You just never know how your skin may react to the ingredients contained in that product. As a rule of thumb, apply a small portion of Silka Papaya Lotion to a discreet area of your body. If you don't experience any side effects after several days, apply the lotion to the desired areas.
