Every woman should have a little black dress (LBD) in her wardrobe. It can be accessorized in many different ways. Whether it's a night out on the town, dinner party brunch or wedding, the black dress fits right in. Spice up that dress with a jacket, pin, flower, belt or a fabulous pair of red heels. Take a walk on the fabulous side and liven up that black dress.
Tuxedo Jacket
A fitted black tuxedo jacket brings instant glam to the little black dress. The jacket should not go pass the hip. This look is meant to accentuate the figure.. Push up the sleeves (stop at the elbow) for an edgy vibe. The jacket is appropriate for a dinner party, girls night out, or dancing. Add extra flair with a pair of black strappy heels.
Pin or Faux Flower
Accessorize in minutes with a pin or faux flower. The pin can be adorned with rhinestones, colored stones, crystals, etc. Find a faux flower in a vibrant color such as turquoise, fuschia, or green. Place them on either shoulder or side of the waist. A pop of color or stone gives the dress a completely different look. This is a wonderful ensemble for a brunch or morning wedding.
Red Heels
There is nothing more eye catching than a black dress combines with a pair of red heels. All attention goes to the feet, so bring it on. There are various choices. A strappy heel that wraps around the ankle or a platform sling is great for a girl with chunky legs. It slenderizes them and makes you look taller. The peep toe pump is another flattering choice. Patent leather gives extra glamour because of its shiny canvas.
Belt
Cinch in the waist with an embellished or plain leather belt. It all depends on personality when choosing the type of belt. For the more conservative, a leather belt in neutral basics such as black, navy, brown or gray work well. Belts in colors (blue, green, red) are great additions. Girls who want to bring out their playful side can wear belts in animal print, polka dots, checkered patterns to name a few. Look sophisticated while you accentuate the waist and update your black dress.
Guidelines
The little black dress should be figure flattering and suit your body type. Other ways to liven a basic black dress are a chocker of pearls, layered strands of colored beads, patterned opague stockings, or a chunky sweater. Black never goes out of style and can be worn in any weather.
