Grab that sweater and button it up in any way you choose. A sweater is a great layering accessory for comfort, warmth and style. Go short, elbow length or long sleeve in a silk, wool or cashmere material. Show your mood when you button a sweater straight down, in the center, halfway or just at the top. Be conservative, feminine or sexy -- and make that sweater come to life.

Straight Down

Take a walk on the conservative side with a sweater buttoned straight down. This is a great look for the office, a business meeting or job interview. Drape a silk scarf over one shoulder or wear a layered scarf at the neck. Give this tailored look a little pep in accessorizing.

Center

Show off that waistline and fasten the center button. Wear a form-fitting top or button-down shirt underneath. For a more glamorous look, slip a sweater on over a sheer blouse or dress with a bow at the neck. Let that bow play peek-a-boo as it rests on top of the button. Wear the blouse and sweater combo with dress pants and high-heel loafers. Pair the dress and sweater with strappy heels. This is femininity at its best.

Top

Sweet is the word when you button the sweater at the top. It has a cape-like effect because the sweater rests along the shoulders. Pair the sweater with a silk blouse or a party dress. Attach a brooch or flower on the shoulder of the sweater. Be demure and accessorize with an evening clutch bag adorned with flowers or beads.

Partial

Go sexy and button down from the middle to the end of the sweater. This partially buttoned look accentuates the bustline. Pair it with skinny jeans, leather leggings or a pencil skirt for more proportion in the body. Accessorize with wedge sandals, platform shoes or peep toes pumps, and you'll be ready for any party.
