Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last few years, you've likely heard of a Henley-style shirt or sweater. Henley tops are known for lacking collars, and for the cute little arrangement of buttons. Since the shirts and sweaters are so similar, some gals wonder just what the difference is between the two. The answer is, not much.
A Henley shirt, which is often worn by both men and women, is made of fairly light material, such as cotton or linen. These shirts are collarless and typically have long or three-quarter-length sleeves. They come in a variety of lengths; the longer varieties are typically referred to as Henley tunics.
Henley sweaters basically look like the Henley shirts; however, they're made of a thicker material, such as wool. Again, they don't have collars and typically have longer sleeves. However, the sweaters often have cute little details down the front, such as ruffles instead of buttons. In short, the sweater is basically the colder-weather version of the shirt.
Wearing Henley Shirts
Henley shirts go with just about anything you can image. Go ahead a slip on a pair of mid-thigh-length shorts to pair with your shirt on those Indian summer-like days. Add a pair of wedges for your feet and you're good to go. Or you can go with a pair of skinny jeans and ballet flats for a totally chic look with your Henley shirt.
Wearing Henley Sweaters
On those cooler days or nights, a Henley sweater is all you need to keep you looking fashionable and warm. Pair your sweater with a cute pair of leggings and some knee-high boots. Just about every sweater looks gorgeous with a pair of jeans, and this type is no exception. Slip on a pair of heeled booties and you'll look amazing.
