Because your fine hair tangles more easily than other hair types, you may often end up literally tearing your hair out when you try to comb or style it. Prevent the easy breaking and snarling of fine hair by conditioning it generously. With frequent conditioning and gentle combing you can detangle fine hair to leave it sleek and shiny.

1.

Follow a standard shampoo with a rinse-out conditioner that will nourish your hair and eliminate tangles. Work the conditioner through the bottom two-thirds of your hair and leave it in for the recommended time. Rinse out the conditioner with warm water and pat your hair dry gently with a towel.

2.

Apply the leave-in conditioner to your hair, concentrating on the areas with tangles. Allow the conditioner to penetrate your hair for several minutes.

3.

Begin finger-picking your hair to work through tangles. Start at the ends of your hair, removing tangles gently with your fingers, and work your way up to the roots. If you find areas with difficult or challenging tangles, spray additional leave-in conditioner on these spots and work the conditioner in gently.

4.

Switch to a wide-toothed comb to remove tighter tangles, working gently to pick out the tangles without breaking the fine hair.
