You're really looking forward to your date night this weekend, but you're not sure what to wear. Of course you want to make the best first impression -- you only get to make one -- and that means picking out the right outfit for the date. You have plans to go to the movies so your goal is to create an outfit that's comfy and casual, but still chic and sexy. That means no dressing in a sweat suit just because you know the lights are going to be off the whole time, OK?
Dress and Heels
A dress instantly makes you look and feel girly and glam. Avoid your clubbing mini dresses tonight -- that's a bit too much -- but a knee-length dress is ideal. Show off your legs with a pair of peep-toe pumps or Mary-Jane heels. If it's a bit chilly out, simply throw on a pair of tights under your dress for instant warmth. Opt for closed-toe shoes or boots if you wear tights for the most chic look.
Blouse and Jeans
A simple blouse and some skinny or boot-cut jeans are dressy enough for a date, but casual enough for the movies, so you don't look overdressed. Find a blouse with interesting details, like a tie at the neck or some fancy bead work. If it's a button-up, leave a couple buttons at the top undone to instantly add a bit of sex appeal to your ensemble.
Tunic and Leggings
Wearing a tunic top with leggings allows you to be comfortable while you're watching the flick, but makes it obvious you put effort into your outfit so you look presentable and date-ready. Opt for basic black leggings, or be bold with a pair in a vibrant hue such as purple or even animal print. If your leggings are colorful, keep your top a neutral shade so you don't blind your date with brightness. Heeled booties or flat ankle boots make this look ultra-fab.
Skirt and Pumps
For a first date, fun and confident are two things you're hoping your date thinks you are. You'll come across as exactly that with a pretty, feminine skirt and some sky-high pumps. You wouldn't want to wear your highest heels for a date hiking or the races, but for the movies it's ideal. You're not going to be doing a lot of walking, so you don't have to worry about blisters forming after the first hour. A figure-flaunting bodysuit or even a plain white tee under your skirt is a perfect choice.
Jeans and Sneakers
You can wear jeans and sneakers without it being too dressed down, if you do it right. Don't wear your old, worn out running sneakers for one thing. A clean pair of flat-top sneakers and dark wash skinnies with a pretty blouse or off-the-shoulder top is perfect for the occasion. Jazz up your look with some shimmery jewelry and a bold-colored handbag.
