If you're a brown-eyed gal, you have plenty to be thankful for. Brown eyes are rich, dreamy and utterly expressive. Rather than hide your alluring gaze behind unflattering hair hues, opt for a hair color that complements your decadent eye coloring and bat a feminine lash at all your admirers. You'll have plenty.

Flatter Your Brown With Brunette

Brown hair and rich dark eyes are a natural pairing. It's likely you're a natural brunette, and if not you can become one to better flatter your dreamy eye color. To richen your color, opt for an allover color process in a drizzling chocolate or spicy brown hue. If you have warm tones in your skin, ask your colorist to add a touch of red or gold in the color base to add a shimmering glow to your tresses. Cool-toned gals should opt for a brownie-dark hue with a blue base or a light ash brown color, to avoid adding yellow tones to their milky coloring. If you have fair skin paired with brown eyes, you can go very dark. Like Snow White, lucky girl.

Add Glowing Highlights

If you simply must have a touch of blonde in your locks, who could blame ya? Maybe blondes do have more fun. So go ahead and streak golden hues in your brunette tresses, if your irises have gold or red flecks. You'll warm up your complexion while flattering your brown eyes. A traditional partial or full highlight will make you beach-ready year-round. If your irises are flecked black, opt for sandy blonde highlights that are more earthy and subtle. If you've got green flecks in your irises, we'll try not to be green with envy, as you can truly wear brown and blonde well. A combination pairing of chunky dark and blonde highlights are an exotic fit for you.

Going Blonde

If you're a brunette or redhead and decide to go drastic by opting for an allover blonde color service or heavy highlights, you can still flatter your eye color by choosing cosmetics that are light and soft. Platinum blond color with brown eyes pairs well with light pink lipstick and neutral eye shadows. Make sure you opt for a neutral sandy blonde if you go light, to avoid the brassy hues brunettes often suffer. A color-preserving shampoo once per week will help rid unwanted tones.

A Happy Mix

Rather than opt for blonde or brunette tresses, some brown-eyed girls decide to enjoy both. Chunking hair color techniques are a great way to add bold multi-panel colors to your hair. Start with a brunette base and have your colorist do large panels of blonde in between or do a half-blonde, half-brunette mix. When you have so many options to flatter your gorgeous gaze, why choose only one? Adding a heavenly mix of chocolate and vanilla hues to your hair color is both rich and sweet. Just like you, and those gorgeous brown eyes.
