When the weather warms up, it's time to pull out your spring and summer dresses. Not only are they cute, but they're super comfy and are a fantastic alternative to pants. Learn how to take your summer dress from feminine to edgy, and other fab styles in between, and start your summer off right.
Keep it Casual
If you're running errands or doing a bit of light shopping, keep your summer dress cute and casual. Try pairing yours with your favorite pair of flat sandals. If you haven't gotten around to getting a pedi, slip on some ballet flats instead. Or, if you're the kind of girl who has to have some sort of height, opt for a wedge over a classic heel. They're much easier on your feet, but still give you a few more inches.
Make it Sexy
If you're rocking a saucy little minidress, add a fab heel to make your gorgeous legs even longer. Try an open-toe pump or a super-strappy sandal to make your look even more sultry. Wedges work here too, so if you're still going for comfort, opt for them instead. Finish off your look with a big cocktail ring or over-sized earrings.
Add a Hat
Summery straw fedoras are a fun way to make your look more trendy, not to mention they're perfect for bad hair days. Try pairing yours with a solid colored maxi-dress and flat sandals. Or rock it with a short, flirty dress. A fedora adds a bit of fashionable androgyny to an otherwise feminine outfit.
Try a Bootie
If you want to go for the unexpected, slip on an ankle boot. Boots aren't just reserved for colder weather. If you want to make yours summery, try a peep-toe or cage bootie, which still gives you that boot shape but allows your feet to breathe a little bit. The right bootie can make your pretty little frock just a little bit edgy. To up the edge a little more, throw on a denim or leather motorcycle jacket. If it's too hot for a jacket, switch yours out for a denim or leather vest.
