Just because the weather cools off doesn't mean your style has to. Your skirts can look just as cute during the winter months as they do in spring and summer. It's just a matter of learning how to style them so that they're chic and cozy. So, don't pack your favorite skirts away. Instead, get more fashionable mileage out of them all year long.
Tights
The most important cold weather accessory for your skirt is arguably a pair of tights. Bare legs on a freezing cold day are no good, so make sure you cover them up before you slip your skirt on. Luckily for you, there are tons of different types of tights, so wear yours opaque, sheer, colored or patterned -- and show your style while staying warm.
Shoes
Boots aren't a must like tights. You've got other options here too, so if you're not in a boot mood, try ballet flats, pumps or even strappy sandals -- just make sure you're wearing them over your tights. If you do decide to wear boots, you've got tons of options. Try flat boots for a more comfy look, or rock a heel. Try a fashion-forward wedge boot, or slip on a trendy ankle boot.
What to Wear on Top
Staying warm is all about layering. Layering can also be incredibly chic, too. If you're trying to go more casual, try a basic tee worn under a cardigan or chunky sweater. Turtlenecks look fab for work, as do button-up blouses. Top your look off with a leather jacket or pretty pea coat to keep you warm and cozy.
Spring Pieces in Winter
Don't feel like you can only wear your winter skirts during the winter months. Spring skirts work too. Again, it's all about layering. So, if you have a skirt made out of a not-so-warm material, try wearing it over super-thick tights or leggings. Pairing your spring skirt with darker colors also helps it look more weather appropriate, so mix floral prints with blacks and grays.
