There's no rule that says a girl can't wear a few -- or a bunch of -- sequins, so get your shimmer and shine on in a fab sequined skirt. This trend doesn't have to leave you looking like a disco ball. You just have to know how to style your skirt to make it look its best.
Add a Blouse
Tone down your sexy sequined skirt with a feminine blouse. Try a neutral shade that will also help to ground your sequined look a bit. Pair nude with a silver sequined skirt, or go for a golden goddess look by wearing that same nude blouse with a gold sequined bottom. Add a pair of heels and you're done. No need to go overboard on accessories here.
Add a Blazer
Thought you couldn't make a sequined skirt look structured? Think again! You'd be amazed what a perfectly tailored blazer can do. So, if you want to look a little more conservative, slip on a cute little blazer. Don't worry; your look will still be fun. You are wearing sequins for goodness sake. Tuck a basic tee into your skirt so you don't overwhelm your look and add a simple pump.
Make it Formal
Yup, sequined skirts can work on the red carpet too. Just opt for a longer one, and you've got an instantly glamorous look. Since you're wearing waist-to-toe sequins, keep the rest of your ensemble simple. Try a basic shell or tank. If you want to keep it dressy, opt for silk or another fancy fabric. Then, add a strappy high-heel sandal, delicate earrings and a few bangles on the wrists and you're all set.
Make It Casual
Let your skirt take a casual turn...well, as casual as it possibly can be. Pair yours with a denim button-up blouse for a cool combo of sparkly and subdued. Add a tan belt and a pair of tan flat sandals, wedges or chunky heels, and you've got an instant camping-meets-clubbing combination. If you want to really keep 'em guessing, pull your hair into a messy chignon and add a bright red or fuchsia lip.
