1.
Spritz a smidgen of styling spray through your dry strands to coax your hair into obedience. Just a touch -- you don’t want to saturate, just coat it lightly.
2.
Brush your hair thoroughly to work the styling spray through and detangle.
3.
Pull your hair back into a high pony at the crown of your head. Make the hair smooth and neat as it goes back into the ponytail by brushing carefully, and then fasten the ponytail tightly with an elastic hair band.
4.
Use one of two options for twisting -- you can twist the entire ponytail, or you can divide it in half and twist each half separately. If you twist the whole thing, just grab it in your hand near the bottom and twist it around and around until it starts to coil slightly. When this happens, bring the ends up to the elastic hair band and fasten the second hair band to secure the ends. Tuck in the ends with a few bobby pins. If you divide it in half first, twist each half separately and in opposite directions. When you get to the bottom, twist the halves together in random fashion and add the elastic band at the bottom to hold the twists tight.
5.
Add a touch of hairspray over the entire style to tame flyaways and hold the style tight.
