You're looking forward to your bowling date -- and you're ready to show your stuff knockin' down pins at the alley -- but you're just not sure what to wear. It's great that you've got the confidence and attitude part down pat, but if you look like a slob, you're probably not going to get asked out on another date. Have no fear, you're sure to be able to find just the right thing in your closet to wear if you know what works for the bowling alley and what doesn't.
Jeans and a T-Shirt
Jeans and a T-shirt may be a bit plain for a date elsewhere, like the new restaurant that just opened up or even the movies, but for bowling it works. This is a casual date setting and you definitely don't want to wear your favorite mini dress. Unless, of course, you feel like showing the crowd in the bowling alley more than you should every time you bend to whip that ball down the lane. If you want to make the jeans and tee a bit dressier, add some chunky, glittery jewelry.
Leggings and a Tunic
Leggings are uber-comfortable. Even those people who think leggings "aren't pants" can't deny that. Leggings are so versatile, so you can make them casual or more dressed up, depending on what you pair them with. A long, lovely tunic is perfect for this occasion, and leaves you feeling super comfy, totally ready to show off your strike skills.
You don't have to be afraid to wear a dress to the bowling alley, just opt for one that hits farther down your leg. A knee-length sundress works, because it's really fun and feminine, but not so short you have to worry about baring all every time it's your turn. Add a fitted cardigan or ruffled jacket to layer and finish off your casual, girly look.
Dress and Tights
A dress and tights is one option for a date at the bowling alley. The dress is feminine and instantly makes you look more formal and date-ready, but the tights keep it from being overdone and also keep you covered up. As long as your dress hits mid-thigh or lower, you pretty much have all the freedom in the world with the style of frock you choose. A sweater dress or tank dress can show off your stuff on your date -- never mind your killer fashion sense.
Shorts and Tank
If the weather's warmer, throw on a pair of shorts and a tank. This way you stay nice and cool but the shorts keep you from making a major fashion mishap when you're doing all that bending and throwing. Besides, it's a fun look and you'll look super-cute, which is just what you want when you're on a hot date.
