With your short, wavy relaxed hair, you can have your pick of cute hairstyles. Any lines you choose will be easy to cut and maintain. You can go for a really short cut that makes your eyes pop and keep your 'do super easy to maintain, or spend just a little time styling each day with a longer hairstyle. Cute is cool for any age and lifestyle, too, so don't think the moniker is reserved just for little girls.

Glam

Go for a glamorous style by letting your hair grow. Thick, wavy hair hanging just below your shoulders complements a long, sleek neck and lets you do bouncy when you feel like tightening up your curls. The 1940s was the era when glam ruled and you can easily achieve that look with your curling iron when you let your hair grow. Just wrap about an inch of hair around the iron and hold it parallel to your head. You can curl just the strands that frame your face or do your whole head for a cute, glamorous look.

Flips

Flipped ends are no longer the purview of little girls. Take your staid medium-length 'do and create a few flips on the ends with a light touch of the curling iron. Your thick wavy hair will easily take the flipping action after you've applied a little texturing cream to the ends. Straighten the roots and hair closer to your head with a flat iron before flipping the ends and you can pull off cute as well as any schoolgirl in her plaid uniform or cheerleader outfit.

Short

Short, short, short is always cute, especially when you want to feature your big eyes for the innocent, wide-eyed curious look. Cut your hair in layers so it stays pretty close to your head and add fringe around the sides of your cheekbones. Sweep bangs to the side when you want to present a more mature look and use a headband to pull the hair off your face for a fresh, cute style. Let a few wavy tendrils hang down from the headband for a little cute flirty action. Make sure your face is clean and clear, however, when you pull it all back to reveal your fresh dewy forehead.

Layers

Use layers to create flips and curls that bounce when you do. Layer your relaxed hair so pieces naturally curl outward in the most unexpected places. Of course, you'll know that you arranged those little awkward waves accordingly, but when your hair is cut in layers it looks much more natural and uncontrived. Let the lower layers curl around your collarbone, while mid-size layers should feather around your face. Shorter layers on top take off some of the weight that oftentimes reduces the bounce in your step.
