Being part of a team can give you a sense of belonging, but you don't want to be a clone. Show off team spirit while giving off a bit of your own flair and style by decking out your team sweatpants. When you're ready to get cozy or hit the field, take regulation wear to the next level by transforming ordinary sweats into the hottest duds your legs can sport. There may be no "I" in team, but with customized sweatpants, you'll really stand out.

1.

Patch it up! Whereas patches used to be something seen on the elbows of stuffy old professors' jackets, they now come in so many fly styles and colors, you're sure to find something to suit your sweats. Patches are embroidered designs such as skulls, hearts, sports logos and other shapes with a special backing. You simply heat up an iron and use it to adhere the patch to your pants. Find patches with your team logo or mascot or go personal with patches of your favorite animals.

2.

Keep the comfort of the sweatpants and thrill you get from being on the team while you transform the baggy clothes into something cooler. Go from straight leg to capri by simply snipping the pants below where your knee would be and ripping straight across. Do the same for team workout shorts, but cut above the knee. Ladies with stylish sewing skills can turn team sweatpants into adorable sweat skirts with a couple of stitches.

3.

Add glitter to your sweatpants to really sparkle. Like you need a reason to bling out? Glitter isn't reserved for the ladies on the catwalk or the girls getting down at the club. Pick a canister of glitter that clashes with your sweatpants color (you want it to be seen, not to fade into the pants color). Spread newspaper on the floor and lay out the pants. Trace the glitter design, such as your name, team name or "Go 2011!" with white school glue on the pants. Shake the canister of glitter over the glue and let dry. Shake out the pants and pour the excess glitter back into the canister for your next glitzy project.

4.

Act like a crazed sports fanatic (after all, you love your team, right?) and get fellow team members and friends to sign your pants. Use a waterproof thick marker and ask for autographs at the next sporting event. Who says you need an autograph book or, gasp, a cast to get peoples' John Hancocks? Each time you wear the pants you'll remember making that special connection with your pals.
