Curly hair can be fun, flirty and sexy, too. Curls are great, especially if you've got a great set of highlights to add dimension and bangs that frame your face perfectly. Bangs can give you tons more styles to go with, so always make sure they are at their best.

Less is More

When it comes to curly hair, less is always more. Mizu New York Salon's celebrity hair stylist Ashley Hanna says that when curly hair is just tossed up or worn down with that loose tousled look, it looks amazing -- just think of Sarah Jessica Parker. Hanna says the less product you put in and the less you mess with it, the better it looks. She recommends washing curly hair in the morning and running a light leave-in conditioner through your strands and comb through. She says to let your hair dry before shaking it all out. This way, your natural curls can present themselves while still being under control.

Side Part

Mike van den Abbeel, owner of Mosaic Hair Studio in Orlando, Florida, says that depending on how curly the hair is, a long side part will look fabulous because, on most people, framing the face with an off-center part and bangs is flattering. However, if you've been blessed with extremely curly hair, Abbeel says you still have the option of getting a Keratin treatment done on just your bangs. This way you can create many more styles with what you've got.

Loose Buns

Lately, the trendy look is to throw your hair up in a loose bun and call it a day. This can definitely look great with women who have curly, highlighted tresses and bangs. You can leave the bangs out and swept to the side if you're looking to frame your face. Hanna says this is a great look for a night out on the town. It's trendy, and it can be super quick and easy.

Curl Don'ts

No matter how fabulous your highlights are, or what perfect length your bangs are, there is one don't in Hanna's book that probably will remain a don't for years to come. She says to never put in loads of products, like gels and mousses, and leave the hair looking wet and crunchy. This is so 1990. Hanna says curly hair is supposed to be bouncy, not stiff and crisp.
