When you need your locks to look effortlessly flirty, a cute curly style should be your go-to ‘do. Curly styles are feminine and romantic and can work for almost any occasion. If Mother Nature blessed you with poker-straight strands, don't be fooled into thinking you can't rock a simple curly style. With the help of your curling irons, bobby pins and a can of hairspray, a head-turning curly look is easy to achieve without the help of a professional.
Create Some Curls
If you are blessed with naturally curly locks, a touch of styling mouse and a few hand scrunches is all that is required to keep your curls in check. Gals with straight strands should grab a large barrel curling iron to tousle their tresses. Spray a heat protection mist over dry locks and curl inch-long sections of hair throughout. Finish with a strong-hold hairspray to ensure that your curls don't fall flat. Create extra volume and backcomb the roots around your hair part for instant body-boosting results.
Add Some Twists
You can leave your curls to hang loose over your shoulders, but if you want to add a dose of femininity, try rocking some twists around the front of your face. Take an inch-long section of hair from either side of your hair part and gently twist toward the back of your head. Secure your twists with bobby pins for a gorgeously girly look. If you want to keep your hair out of your face for a busy day at work, a simple twisted style is the way to go. Try braiding your hair back instead of twisting for a beautiful boho look.
Pull it into a Ponytail
Ponytails aren't just for greasy hair days. A bouncy curly ponytail has become the style of choice for seriously stylish fashionistas on the red carpet. Try pulling your curly tresses into a side ponytail and securing it with a clear elastic behind one ear. Lightly backcomb the base of the ponytail to give your curls extra volume. A side ponytail is simple and sophisticated, but if you want to a standout look, try wearing it high at your crown instead.
Try a Textured Bun
Twist your curly ponytail into a beautiful bun for an effortlessly elegant look. If you want to stay demure and understated, wear your curly bun low at the nape of your neck. Gently pull at the bun with your fingers to let some of your shorter curls come loose. Rock a sky-high topknot if you want to stay firmly ahead in the style stakes. Pull your curly locks into a high ponytail and twist it into a bun. Manipulate the bun with your fingers to create a messy and unstructured finish. Your curly strands will give this ‘do the texture and volume it demands.
