It's party time! You've got the perfect ensemble all picked out but have no clue what to do with your hair. Don't let this be a problem. From sleek and straight to romantic and curly -- and a few more creative styles in between -- choose from a ton of ways to make your hair look fab in time for your next big fiesta.
Whether you're wearing an elegant frock or something more trendy, polished hair is always cool. Wear your locks in a chic chignon at the nape of your neck, to the side or at the crown of your head. Make it even more interesting with a pulled-back French roll. Or invert your French roll and wear it twisted down. Just pull your hair up and back, then twist it down, rolling it inward, and securing it with bobby pins as you go. If you have any extra hair hanging at the bottom, twist it into a chignon and pin it up.
If you like to be a showstopper, rock an unexpected look. A messy braid - or any intentionally disheveled style -- does just the trick here. Wear your loose braid to the side, letting stray tendrils hang where they may. Or embellish your braid. At the 2009 premiere of "Inglorious Basterds", actress Diane Kruger strategically placed bobby pins on hers, and designer Jason Wu put gold feathers in the hair of his models as they strutted down the runway at his fall 2011 Fashion Week show.
Go the soft romantic route with a head full of curls. Wear your tresses in waves or in big bouncy curls. Add a sparkly accent, like a pretty barrette. Give your curly look some texture by teasing it at the crown and pinning the front section of your hair back. A curly ponytail or bun takes the look into fun territory.
If sleek is more your thing, try a smooth blowout. All you need is a great flat iron to press your tresses out super straight. If a loose hanging mane isn't enough for you, pull your hair up into a tight, high ponytail. Make it more interesting by taking a section of hair and wrapping it around the base of your pony. Or go for a hybrid look and pull the front of the hair into a ponytail and leave the rest loose.
