With your rich, red burgundy locks, many colors can emphasize and highlight your gorgeous tresses. To find the right colors, you need to understand the undertones present. Burgundy has red, brown and even gold undertones. These are the gorgeous hues you can use to create contrasting and complementary color combinations. Get ready to get colorful!
Black and White
Black and white are natural classics for all redheads. Wearing a crisp white blouse, shirt or plain T-shirt is a definite fashion "do." White is a reflective color, so will automatically radiate light and brighten your face. This will highlight all the beautiful, varying shades of red, gold and brown in your hair. Black is another cool color to wear with burgundy. If you are a natural redhead, however, your skin tone may not wear black well: It can wash you out. Keep black in the lower half: Wear black trousers or a black skirt.
Brown is definitely a good shade for you. Neutrals are your friend; with fiery hair it is good to wear calm shades to add color balance. One of burgundy's natural undertones is dark brown, so wearing variations of brown is always a good look for you! Try brown shades from beige to taupe to caramel. They will all highlight the brown tones in your tresses.
Navy is a good color for a contrasting look. Navy teamed with burgundy hair will allow both colors to appear richer and stronger. They are contrasting shades, and so emphasize one another. Your hair will appear even more flamelike with a rich, regal navy dress, blouse or blazer.
Pink is a good color for burgundy hair because it shares red as an undertone. If you want a feminine and pretty color to wear, what better shade than pink? Go for cooler pinks instead of hot, candy or Barbie pink; these will simply aggravate your look. A cool baby pink or blush will allow your hair to stand out, and give you a feminine glow.
