When summer comes around, it's your time to shine. Wearing bright colors is a way to express yourself. Bold hues also bring staple colors like white, black and nude to life. They look good with all skin tones; they brighten pale skin and accentuate dark skin. Add some color to your wardrobe and bring on the beach because summer is right around the corner.
Pink is hot, hot, hot this summer. Available in an array of different hues, there's sure to be a shade that will make you feel hot. Pair it with denim, black or white. To add a pop of color to your outfit, wear pink shoes, jewelry or a cardigan. Think you can't wear pink to work? Think again. Wear a pink top under your suit or a pair of pink kitten heels to sport this trend during work hours.
White is the classic summer color. Not only is it fresh and crisp but it keeps you cool in the harsh summer heat. It also complements all skin tones. For a full figure, try a white maxi dress to accentuate your curves. Need some curves? Go with a pair of white fitted jeans topped with a black tank.
Color blocking is combining different bright colors by wearing one color on top and another on the bottom. Seen all over the runways, this trend works during the day or night. If you want to be more subtle, try pairing a bright-colored skirt with a tank in a pale shade like blush pink or lavender. For the full-force look, pair colors that are near-opposites on the color wheel, such as pink and green or purple and yellow. Go easy on accessories with color blocking: Try feminine gold necklaces or post earrings.
Bold prints from stripes to flowers are big this season. The key is to focus on one piece. A bold dress will do wonders with your favorite pair of summer shoes and accessories. A skirt will bring out a plain white or black tank. This trend is a sure way to look current without going over the top.
