The go-to casual outfit involves khakis. A pair of khaki pants or shirt paired with some loafers, sandals or canvas sneakers is a simple outfit for the office or a day running errands around town. Khakis are a great choice because they are comfortable and you can pull off just about any color with them, especially colored shoes. There are popular colors that will make a simple khaki outfit pop.

Be Basic in Brown or Black

Brown, in any shade, and black are both good colors to pick for your shoes. Light brown ankle cut khakis would look good with a pair of heeled open-toe sandals. Top the outfit with a red or orange blazer to break up the color scheme of the outfit, so your brown or black shoes will stand out. This look works with brown or black flats or loafers as well.

Be Hot in Red

If you really want to go with the casualness of the khakis, wear a khaki skirt with bright red Converse or canvas sneakers. The sneakers will keep the outfit casual while the bright red color will make it pop, especially with a simple white T-shirt. You can still look casual with plain red flats or red sandals with no heels.

Be Sunny with Yellow

If you want to be casual but a little dressy, wear yellow flats with khaki shorts, skirt or pants. Pick some flats that are designed or created with a fancy flare. The yellow color, which is pretty and soft, will make this khaki silhouette a simple, dressy look with a ruffled white top, black shirt, or other shirt with yellow in it.

Be Classic With White

If you simply want to be casual, comfy and cute, wear some white sneakers. Pair your favorite khaki shorts with a white or navy blue T-shirt. If you want to spice up your simple sneakers, throw on some neon-colored socks.
