What Color Top Do You Wear With Olive Green?

There are quite a few options for colors of top to pair with olive green pants.

The military trend has women snapping up olive green cargo pants like nobody's business -- and as versatile, easy and comfortable as the style is it's bound to stay in fashion for some time to come. To avoid looking like you just stepped out of basic training, wear a top that complements your olive green pants, but is not matchy-matchy.

Femme it up With a Neutral Print

There is one big rule when it comes to wearing trends effortlessly and stylishly: Balance. Women who wear a theme head-to-toe scream "Fashion Victim," even if they're wearing thousands of dollars of designer clothes. When you're wearing olive green pants, which is a masculine and militaristic color, think feminine for balance. A neutral-colored chiffon blouse with a sweet flower print will go a long way here. Pair it with a white camisole underneath, to add a girly touch. As for the colors of the print, complementary greens, pinks and blues will work well.

Boyfriend Style It With Basic White and Blue

Another hot trend is the boyfriend style. Slightly slouchy, baggy tops that look like you stole it from your man are uber stylish right now. A simple, white or chambray (blue) button down will give you a casual, tom boy look. Add a pair of heels if you want to wear the look out at night. Mixing two trends like military and boyfriend is just as balancing as mixing masculine and feminine.

Navy and Black

The two colors in your wardrobe that add instant chic to everything are navy and black. Any style of top in one of these colors will be paired well with your olive green pants. But, don't forget to balance proportions. If your pants are slim, wear a looser less form-fitting top. If your pants are baggy, feel free to wear something that shows your cleavage a bit or your curves. If you opt for navy stay away from anything with gold accents as that can take the military olive green color too far and lose balance.

Wild Card

Sometimes, unexpected parings create the most modern and fashion-forward looks. Pair your pants with a plaid print of different colors and show off your fashion savvy. Think of plaids that are blue and white, or a plaid with a hint of red. A gingham patterned shirt in virtually any color will also turn heads -- in a good way.
