Emeril Legassi often exclaimed, "Bam!" when he added extra-flavorful spices to one of his dishes. Red shoes -- much like Legassi's spices -- often cause the same reaction from onlookers when you step onto the scene. Don't let blah toes ruin the "Bam" effect, though, and perk up your pedicure with a bold color to go with your red shoes.
Glam up your puppies with a darker color, which has an air of sophistication to it. Choose an ultra-shiny black, deep red or gray to play up your toes. While darker colors may have been seen as "goth" in the past, all women can rock these colors effortlessly and in great taste, especially with a shoe as bold as red. Darker colors also have a sexier vibe to it, so be prepared to beat the admirers away if you go with these colors!
Even if you don't have a million bucks, your feet sure can look like it with a sparkling gold or silver metallic glittering against a red shoe. For bolder gals, go with a gold metallic on your toes, while silver can work for girls who don't like all that shine. No matter which metallic you choose, make it pop with an awesome design or adornment, like a rhinestone on your big toe. Now, that's bling, bling.
Bright colors will also look great with a pair of red shoes. Obviously, red is a great choice to match with your shoes and can really complete your look. Or, other electric colors can make your shoes and feet pop. Try out a bright blue or purple, for instance, to really brighten up your toes and make them stand out against that hot red shoe. A bright pink can also work and give your feet an extra girly touch. Avoid neons, though, as those can be a little much and clash with your red shoes.
The rules of nail polish have changed since your mom's day. So, don't worry about matching your polish to your lipstick or your hand polish to your toes. You don't even have to worry about color-coordinating your polish with your outfit. Go with whatever colors spark your fancy, and wear them with pride. After all, your toes are the least thought of part of your body, so you might as well dress them up!
