Most people love oatmeal for its nutritional value and great taste. Fashionistas, however, love oatmeal for one of its more overlooked properties -- its color that goes with almost everything. If you've copped yourself some oatmeal-colored pants, then try out a few different colored shoes for an outfit that really pops!
Bold and Bright
Nothing will stand out with your oatmeal-colored pants more than a pair of bold or bright shoes. Since oatmeal is a pretty neutral color, go ahead and choose a pair of shoes in any color to match your mood. Girly girls may want to try out a pair of pink flats, while professional women can sport a pair of navy kitten heels with their pants for casual Friday in the office. Or, if you're feeling particularly sporty, then pull on a pair of low-top sneakers in red.
Prints and Patterns
Gals who love nature can show off their appreciation for the great outdoors with their shoes to pair with oatmeal-colored pants. Animal lovers can sport a pair of faux leopard or zebra print shoes in flats or chic peep-toe pumps. Or, you can don a pair of floral print or block-patterned shoes in multiple colors for an extra colorful look. If you want an extra colorful pattern, a rainbow-patterned shoe can really show off your favorite colors all at once.
Oatmeal-colored pants will work great with a pair of shoes in a neutral color. You can match your pants with a tan shoe or go for a white, black or grey. Try a stylish look and cuff your pants before pulling on a pair of black patent pumps. Or, a pair of white sandals will look great for a casual spring or summer look. Grey wedges will also look great with your pants and elongate your legs without a world of discomfort.
Pair your pants with a top that matches your shoes to bring the outfit together. Or couple a complementary top with your pants and a belt that matches your shoes. For example, wear a grey top with navy shoes and a matching navy belt. Also, dress up your outfit with accessories such as a chunky necklace, a fedora hat or clutch. A jacket can also be the missing piece your outfit needs, so try on a fitted denim jacket to keep you warm while staying stylish.
