If your face is dry and flaky, put down the pricey store-bought exfoliating scrub and trade it for a cheap box of baking soda. That's right, that little box with the little price tag has huge scrubbing powers to get rid of dead skin. So when your mug is in need of a good scrubbing, look no further than a box of baking soda.

1.

Grab a bowl and make a baking soda paste. Mix three tablespoons of water with one tablespoon of baking soda.

2.

Moisten your face with warm water. Use your fingertips to gently rub the baking soda paste into your skin. Rub in small, circular motions for a couple of minutes to effectively lift those dead skin cells.

3.

Rinse the paste from your face with a clean, warm washcloth. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

4.

Slap on some facial moisturizer after you're done to soothe your skin.

Tips & Tricks

Use baking soda to scrub your face up to three times a week. Just listen to your skin. If you find it is becoming irritated, lay off the scrub for a while.

Another way to use baking soda for dead skin is to add about a teaspoon to your regular facial cleanser a couple times a week. Use the cleanser like you normally would. The baking soda will amp up the cleansing power and get rid of the dry skin.
